Brick Selection & Laying – Quick Guide

🔍 While Selecting Bricks

• 🔴 Color: Deep red = properly burnt

• 📏 Size & Shape: Uniform and sharp edges

• 🔔 Sound Test: Tap two bricks – clear ringing sound = good quality

• 💧 Water Absorption: Should be < 20%

• ⚠️ Avoid: Cracks, white salt marks, soft texture

🧱 During Brick Laying

• 💦 Soaking: Dip in water for 1–2 hours before use

• ⚖️ Leveling: Use a plumb line and spirit level for straight walls

• 🧪 Mortar Mix: 1:6 (Cement: Sand) is standard for walls

• 🧼 Clean Joints: 10mm uniform joints, remove excess mortar

• 🚿 Curing: Water the brickwork for 7–10 days
